He started collecting and dealing at the age of 14, inspired by his father Dr. Johan Bolt’s important and comprehensive collection of Cape Furniture and related objects.
Since 2005 Riaan has been exhibiting annually at the NAADA (National Antiques and Decorative Arts) Fair, choosing the neglected field of Pioneer Furniture as the theme for his first exhibition. For his premier exhibition at the SAADA (South African Antique Dealers’ Association) annual Fair in 2011, he chose to exhibit a fine collection of rare Early Cape Regency Furniture.
In October 2012, Riaan was ratified as a member of SAADA.
His clients range from Connoisseur Collectors to people who want to own one or two quality pieces of Africana to add individuality and cultural discernment to their living spaces.
Specialist in fine Cape and Transvaal furniture and related objects, South African abstract art from the ‘50s to the ‘80s and South African Anglo-Oriental ceramics.
