THE OLD CORKSCREW – COLLECTION OF TRAVEL POSTERS

The Old Corkscrew showcases a small collection of 1950’s Travel posters. With their strong images, bold colours and unique history they are very popular today with both locals and visitors alike. Due to their size they have tremendous wall power and what made them so interesting was the fact that a lot of the images used portrayed the different ethnic cultures. This was very much at odds with the political intent of the Apartheid regime and makes this dichotomy unique to this genre of art.
